23th of March – „The Map of a disappearing world” – a lecture and screening

Mapa_Ginacego_Swiata 6Ecology is very close to my heart, which is why I’m always very eager to engage in various actions dedicated to saving biota and wildlife. I’m very glad to announce that I’ll soon have the pleasure to lecture at Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego at Poznań, where I’ll be showing one of the episodes of “The Map of a disappearing world”, a documental series hosted by me. Together with the film crew we went to Kenia, Vietnam, Madagaskar and Sri Lanka to search for unique plants and animals, whose endangerment is the result of overexploitation. It turns out every one of us (what we’re often unaware of), can contribute to the extinction of whole ecosystems. At Akademia Wychowania Fizycznego I’ll be showing an episode which we recorded in Vietnam. It’s dedicated to Vietnamese moon bears – animals who go through plenty of suffering, because their livers and are believed to be an unique cure in traditional Chinese medicine.

The lecture, screening and discussion will be held in the AWF aula (main building) on Thursday the 23th of March at 4pm.

22nd of March – „Humani” – a free spectacle at Instytut Teatralny in Warsaw

Humani01 Do you think that robots with the ability to feel will ever replace our close ones? It’s commonly known that nowadays artificial intelligence is a lot more than just the imagination of writers and sci-fi filmmakers. What is the truth about human intelligence? Together with the director Katarzyna Trzaska we’re trying to answer those questions in “Humani”, a sociological science fiction play written by Jarosław Murawski.

After getting out of a bad relationship, Em, the main character, decides to buy a human-shaped advanced robot. An individualized programing system allows to create the perfect partner. The entire plan becomes a lot more complicated when the human-like robot starts to develop the ability to think, feel and suffer.
The main character is played by Anna Liczuk. I had the pleasure to play two characters: DŻO – the real human, Em’s ex-boyfriend and MI – her personal technological home assistant, an avatar displayed on screen, which has a lot of human traits. In the play we’re also joined by Katarzyna Figura and Rafał Maćkowiak.

I’d like to warmly invite you to the play premiere, which will take place on Wednesday the 22nd of March, at 6:30pm in Instytut Teatralny im. Zbigniewa Raszewskiego on Jazdów 1 street in Warsaw. The entry is free of charge. Early reservations: bilety@instytut-teatralny.pl, mobile: 791 877 377

March – „Spank! 50 Shades of Grey” in Warsaw, Gliwice and Olsztyn

12985542_1012470982152756_8475194998539326740_n Dear fans of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele! We have good news for you :-) . In March, we will play 5 times the musical comedy show “Spank! 50 Shades of Grey”, which has a chart-topping popularity both in Poland and around the world! If you want to have 2 hours of great fun full of humour, dancing and well known hit songs – such as from the movie “Cabaret”, “Grease” and Enrique Iglesias’ repertoire, I warmly invite you to come.
We will tell you a story about an unusual man woman relation and deeply hidden sexual desires. The bestselling book “50 shades of Grey” by E.L James was the inspiration for the play writers. Together with my friends – Magda Lamparska and Marta Walesiak – we treat the erotic fantasies presented in the novel mockingly, but what we show in a completely serious way is what it means to be close with someone, how to set boundaries in a relationship and whether or not money is enough to truly be happy.
We are playing on the 5th and 6th of March at 7:30 pm at Teatr Polonia in Warsaw, on the 8th of March (for International Woman’s Day) at 7 pm at Teatr Miejski in Gliwice and on the 29th of March at 5 pm and 8 pm at Teatr im. Stefana Jaracza in Olsztyn at the 25th Olsztyn Theatre Meetings.

Best wishes,

In the book, each one of us shared the story of our Warsaw – we talked about how it is today, how it was in the past, our favourite spots in the city and our most cherished memories connected with it. We also talked about our passions and the important matters in our lives.
If you want to come and listen about our Warsaw and share your own story of the city, I’d like to invite you to Czuły Barbarzyńca at Nowy Teatr in Warsaw (Madalińskiego 10/16 street) on Tuesday, the 31th of January.

31th of December – the Summary of 2016

My dears,
The year 2016 is ending, so it’s a good time for a short sum up. Unlike a “typical pole” would, I’m not going to do any complaining. In fact, I’ll do quite the opposite – I want to share all the things I accomplished this year – maybe it will inspire you to appreciate your own achievements of 2016 as well? Let’s start being appreciative of all the good things in life – despite the sometimes hostile circumstances (you know what I mean).
I sure had a very busy year in the professional field of my life, which is very important to me:
• We played “Spank! 50 shades of Grey” a hundred times – in Teatr Polonia and in theatres all around Poland. Here’s to another hundred shows, each one with a full audience!
• We had a “Spank!” tournée in New York and New Jersey. Such an amazing experience! We want to play this show all around the world!
• “The map of the disappearing world”, the 4-episode documental TVv show hosted by me, had its premiere on TVP1 and was being emitted on TVP Polonia. It’s a very important project – together with the crew we visited Kenya, Sri Lanka, Madagascar and Vietnam to see those countries with our own very eyes and then show the viewers why so many species of biota and wildlife are in danger of extinction and what actions should we undertake to save them from it.
• I started shooting a new TV show, which will most likely start its emission in 2017 on one of the biggest polish television channels.
• I had the very pleasure of being a member of the Jury at the Gdynia Film Festival and at Węgiel International Student Film Festival in Katowice – and, what’s more, I got to see plenty of very good films directed by young, talented people.
• I had the pleasure of running free film courses for teenagers called „MASTERCLASS – Film School”, which were a part of the CINEMAFORUM Film Festival in Warsaw
• I took part in the Congress of Polish Students at Leicester University in the UK, where I shared my thoughts with young people. I talked about overcoming obstacles in career development that occur both in our country and abroad.
• I quit the „Oniegin” play at Teatr Romana – as I was creating the play in a different theatre with Agnieszka Glińska.
I am also proud that in 2016 I accomplished a lot in another very important field for me – travelling and actions connected to saving the natural environment.
• Together with Krzysztof Zanussi we became the first polish Sustainable Development Goals Advocates of UN. The purpose of this honorable function is to make sure that as many people as possible hear UN’s message about the most important challenges the mankind has to face nowadays. It’s about raising awareness that all our actions –our everyday choices, the decisions we make each day, even the smallest actions we undertake or fail to do so – it all has an actual, real impact on our environment, the quality of our lives and the condition of the entire planet.
• By taking part in the 4 episode documental TV show “The map of the disappearing world”, I had the opportunity to tell the viewers what can be done to save the endangered species using my own words – but I already mentioned this while writing about my professional achievements.
• I took part in the “Weekend for elephants” event at Nowe ZOO in Poznań. Its purpose was joining the international protest against ivory trade and supporting international actions dedicated to saving the endangered species of African and Asian elephants.
As for my public activity, I want to mention some of the very touching moments I was lucky enough to experience while supporting the indefatigable Przemek Szaliński and his Foundation dedicated to helping children.
Right before Christmas I took an attempt at starting a blog on naTemat.pl. Many people were touched by it only after the very first. I want to thank everyone for the very kind words and for those criticizing – I’m sending new year wishes your way as well.
Last but not least – my health. I am very glad that my postponed knee surgery and the rehabilitation process after it were successful. Thanks to that I can walk, be on stage and film sets and travel – which is something that, as you know, gives me a lot of happiness, especially when I actually get to do something good for others and the environment while traveling.
I won’t mention my private life – there’s a reason it’s called private. But there’s nothing to complain about in this field either. It’s good to have someone wise and valuable by your side.
And how was your 2016? What did you manage to accomplish? Let’s give ourselves the right to be happy about our successes and let’s start the New Year with faith and hope. So, to myself and to all of you – best wishes for the upcoming year of 2017.

24th of December – Christmas wishes

I hope that you get to spend this Christmas with your family. Despite the not very good circumstances, I wish you a peaceful time. Let’s try to forget about everything that sets us apart, even just for a little while, and let’s only focus on what brings us together. I know it’s very difficult, but it’s not impossible. I wish that you have the courage to be exactly who you are in 2017, I wish that you have the courage to have your own opinion and that you’re not afraid to voice it. I wish that you’re strong enough to fight for everything that’s important and valuable to you. Everyone has the ability to be an artist in their own way – to express themselves and to create something that will be an inspiration to others. I wish us all that we finally believe we can change the world and then – simply change it for the better!

Best wishes to You and your beloved ones,
